Our customer, an international automotive supplier, started the development of a sophisticated product which requirements for the project management were very high. The customer had not yet defined a project team and passed the responsibility over to us to develop a concept and to work out a proposal. In order to supervise this phase, we were commissioned to provide an experienced project manager who, particularly in the initial phase, was to supervise the project definition, planning and implementation. In the course of the project, our consultant assumed responsibility for the project management of the development project itself.
Our project manager accepted the task and organised the workflow management. Then he set up a timetable and a quality planning concept. For this purpose a risk assessment was carried out and measurements were defined for all development goals. When our customer received the order, our consultant assumed the management of the development project and, consequently, the responsibility for the cost-, deadline- and quality goals.
In his work he successfully coordinated – among other things – the following tasks: schedule planning and controlling, capacity and cost management, engineering change management, project logistics, development level management, quality-, risk- and complaint management as well as project documentation.
Due to the professional planning in the initial phase of the project, an offer was developed that was based on a very realistic calculation. Because of the continual planning and supervision of all relevant points, the team was able to work very efficiently. All deadlines were met and the financial budget was not exceeded.
